FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We proudly serve children from infancy through pre-kindergarten, providing age-appropriate classrooms, activities, and care that nurture growth at every stage. For school-aged children, we offer engaging after-school programs during the academic year and full-time care through our fun-filled summer camp.
Since we are a Texas Rising Star Provider our ratios are at or below the state guidelines for staff-to-child ratios to ensure each child gets the individual attention and care they deserve. This allows us to maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
Yes. All staff members undergo strict background checks and hold relevant childcare certifications, including Texas Rising Star (4-star rating), Advance Childcare Inc., First Aid and CPR certified.
Our developmentally-appropriate classrooms are tailored for each age group—infants, toddlers, and pre-K—ensuring both education, safety and flexibility based on the needs of the children. Each classroom features child-sized sinks, separate restrooms, personal storage, and direct access to fenced-in playgrounds.
We offer outdoor play every day, weather permitting—about an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon. Each age group enjoys its own dedicated playground. If weather doesn’t allow for outdoor time, both locations feature indoor motor gyms so children can still enjoy active play.
Yes. We provide nutritious meals and participate in the USDA Child Nutrition Program. All meals are thoughtfully planned to include all food groups in the recommended daily allowances, ensuring balanced nutrition for growing children. Every meal is prepared fresh on-site by our dedicated Little Texans food staff.
Yes, we are a CCS (Texans Child Care Connection) provider.
Little Texans participates in the Texas Child Care Connection (TX3C) program (also known as CCS), which means we accept CCS scholarships. That allows eligible families to apply for financial assistance to help cover part or all of their child care costs, reducing the burden of tuition while their child attends our center.
Because we’re a licensed and registered child care center, and meet the requirements for CCS participation, we’re able to support low-income families, working parents, or parents in school or training programs — helping make high-quality child care more accessible.
If you qualify for CCS, simply let us know during enrollment and we’ll work with you and the local Workforce Solutions office to process your subsidy. We aim to make the process as smooth as possible, so you can focus on what matters — your child’s growth, development, and well-being.
Your child’s health and safety are our top priorities. We disinfect classrooms, toys, and equipment multiple times daily, teach proper handwashing, and prepare all meals in a commercial-grade kitchen separate from classrooms. Staff wear disposable gloves when handling food or attending to sanitary needs, and each school has its own laundry room to prevent contamination. Every classroom follows a detailed cleanliness checklist.
We have a comprehensive emergency and inclement weather preparedness plan in place to ensure your child’s safety in all circumstances.
Yes. We provide transportation for the school aged children from the local elementary schools via our small bus, ensuring safe and reliable travel for your child.
Our programs are thoughtfully designed to support every stage of your child’s development—intellectual, social, emotional, and physical. Each curriculum and daily schedule is age-appropriate for the classroom, ensuring children learn and grow at a pace that’s right for them. Through meaningful play, caring connections, and engaging activities like reading, music, and exploration, we nurture a love for learning while building confidence, respect, and lifelong curiosity.
We use the Procare app to share updates, including meal times, nap times, learning activities, and any minor incidents. This keeps parents connected and reassured throughout the day.
If a child becomes ill, we notify parents immediately and provide a comfortable, supervised space until they can be picked up. Our staff follow strict illness policies to minimize the spread of germs and protect the health of all children.
We work closely with parents to understand and accommodate each child’s dietary needs and restrictions. All meals are prepared on-site by Little Texans staff in a separate commercial-grade kitchen, away from classrooms, following strict sanitation and food safety procedures to prevent cross-contamination. If your child has a milk allergy, you may be asked to provide a milk alternative. For any food allergy, a doctor’s note and an allergy plan are required to ensure your child’s safety.
